Compound V2

Compound V2 is the original Compound money market on Ethereum, where each asset had its own pool and cTokens represented deposits. It is being wound down in favour of Compound III; the legacy app at v2-app.compound.xyz shows a deprecation notice and links to migration.

Legacy version: Compound governance started deprecating V2; the app at v2-app.compound.xyz asks users to migrate positions to Compound III.

Restrictions

  • Geo Block: yes. v2-app.compound.xyz answers HTTP 403 with a geo-block notice to some countries (the privacy notice describes automated geo-blocking of the IP-derived location). The countries are those of the live probe (see the observations; 2026-10-12: CD, IQ, MM, SS, ZW; four sanctioned countries got Cloudflare's block page without geo wording). Blocked countries: Myanmar (Burma), South Sudan, Sudan, Zimbabwe.
  • Feature Block: no.
  • Wallet screening: yes. screening.compound.xyz (own service; the privacy notice names TRM Labs / Chainalysis as data providers) Where it runs: API. Fail mode: n/a.
  • VPN / Tor detection: ToS only.
  • Terms of Service: v2-app.compound.xyz/#terms, Last updated unknown. generic sanctions + Foundation discretion.

Notes

The screening endpoint is injected as an app flag (SCREENING_ENDPOINT); the public palisade code predates it and does not screen.
