Uniswap

Uniswap is a decentralized exchange protocol where tokens are swapped against automated market maker (AMM) liquidity pools instead of an order book. Uniswap Labs runs the official web app, which routes trades across Uniswap v2, v3 and v4 pools on Ethereum and many layer-2 and EVM networks; liquidity providers earn swap fees and the protocol is governed by UNI holders.

Restrictions

• Geo Block: reported. The interface gateway (interface.gateway.uniswap.org) the app reads all its data from answers HTTP 409 ACCESS_DENIED to some countries, and app.uniswap.org itself is refused there; the code has no site-level geo-block. The countries are those of the live probe (see the observations; 2026-10-12: CU, IR). 2025 reports said the whole of Ukraine was blocked through 'third-party providers'; from Ukraine the gateway answered on 2026-10-12. Blocked countries: Ukraine, Iran, Cuba.
• Feature Block: yes. RWA tokens, LP, migration, Toucan auctions: region gate GatedFeature.ISSUER_SPECIFIC_RWA plus per-token restriction reasons from compliance v2 (server decides by IP)
• Wallet screening: yes. own compliance v2 API (entry-gateway.backend-prod.api.uniswap.org); TRM Labs historically (2022) Where it runs: API. Fail mode: fail-open (an unauthenticated session also counts as not-blocked).
• VPN / Tor detection: no.
• Asset filter: featureGatedTokens token deny-list.
• Terms of Service: uniswap.org/terms-of-service, Last updated 2024-03-21. The Terms name no country: users must not be citizens, residents or organized in a jurisdiction or territory under comprehensive country-wide, territory-wide or regional US sanctions (support.uniswap.org Terms of Service, read on 2026-10-12 from the Wayback copy of 2026-09-19).

Notes

Screening and the RWA gate are calls to the Uniswap entry gateway. Routing (Trading API) goes through the same gateway and needs an API key.
