Lighter

Lighter is a perpetual futures exchange built as a zk-rollup: order matching and liquidations run off-chain and are verified on-chain with zero-knowledge proofs. Deposits settle through its Ethereum contract, and the app also takes deposits from other EVM networks through a universal deposit address.

The API rejects requests with geo_restriction_not_allowed ("You are accessing Lighter from a restricted jurisdiction") and the app shows a geo-blocked banner; the Terms log the IP to enforce access restrictions. The blocked countries are those where GET /api/v1/geoLocation answered error 20558 to the live probe (see the observations; 2026-10-12: 14 of 62 countries, among them US, CA, GB, RU, UA, CN); the Terms name 14 jurisdictions. Blocked countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ukraine, China, Russia, Belarus, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, Myanmar (Burma), Sudan.
